Open Wednesday to Friday 10am – 4pm
and 9am – 2.30pm on Saturdays throughout September.
Next month, we launch “A little art space” with extended opening hours, new artists, and exciting artwork.
Be sure to allow plenty of time for your visit and chat with artist Jane about the time and effort that has led to creating the works you love most. Hear about the excitement of a new find while walking the island’s beaches and the amazing amount of time spent laying treasures out and finding the right piece to create a picture without cutting or changing the item found in any way.
Most treasures begin with one piece that sparks an idea – for example, a shell that resembles a wedding dress or seaglass that looks like a sail.
Some of the very old Sea Pottery dates back to the 1800s when some Tall Ships came with ballast of broken crockery from English porcelain houses – it was dumped at sea, making room to take basalt back.
