Co-director of Fine Art Kangaroo Island, Fred has been producing artwork on the Island for 25 years. He works in found materials to create fine sculpture, and in various metals to produce delicate jewellery, especially in sterling silver.
Fred has spent countless hours enjoying the island’s rivers and lagoons, admiring the birds, insects and plants that inhabit these special places. His exhibition work for SALA 2014 was inspired by those observations and the recent discovery of his indigenous heritage. This work is based on Central Australian drawing style showing a river running to a rock pool creating a cascade or waterfall.
