Toward Emu Bay by Neil Sheppard. First viewed in the Fine Art Kangaroo Island gallery in 2009, this iconic piece is among the most recognisable of Shep's work

Toward Emu Bay, Neil Sheppard

$800.00 – $2,200.00

Shep became widely recognised on Kangaroo Island and in South Australia’s mid north. Though his painting styles were many and varied – from Fergie tractors, chooks and sheds;  to stylised blue and orange boats; and of course, these richly coloured pastorals with the signature protruding fence posts – if you see a “Shep” it is instantly recognisable.

This painting was first seen by the public in Fine Art Kangaroo Island gallery in early 2009. Considered the finest example of his rural landscapes. This is the view from Shep’s working studio gallery in the Wisanger hills toward Emu Bay, Kangaroo Island. He painted this scene in many moods and atmospheres but this work epitomises his fine brush strokes and masterful use of the oils.
